Carbon Dioxide Rate is at Highest Level for 650,000 Years
COAL IS A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO GLOBAL WARMING,
We Need to Stop Burning it

We can all do our part to cut CO2 emissions

With the right leadership we can bring this to a halt. We would have the support of the world and who knows maybe even
gain some of the respect that we have lost.

Energy in all forms must be evaluated. Solar energy is a consideration. Most electric companies use oil to make electricity. If we use less electricity in our homes we are using less oil. Installing a solar hot water heater can give you a government rebate..

Penquins and Global Warming
This photo from the National Science Foundation shows the shear face of the massive B-15A iceberg stretches for 150 kms across McMurdo Sound after it broke off the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica, 2001. UN scientists delivered their starkest warning yet about global warming, saying fossil fuel pollution would raise temperatures this century, worsen floods, droughts and hurricanes, melt polar sea ice and damage the climate system for a thousand years to come. What We Can Do..
Where we have direct control over things we do that contribute to global warming, we can make individual choices and modifications to our lifestyles to lower our own greenhouse gas emissions.
Turn out that light!
Turn off lights in rooms when you leave. Replace incandescent bulbs with high efficiency florescent bulbs that use less energy. These last for years and payback their costs many times with energy savings.
Use less gasoline -- Humble the oil companies
The use of gasoline is one of the major causes of the greenhouse gases surrounding the earth that is causing global warming. The transportation sector is the source of 30% of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. Insisting on cars that get better gas mileage, reducing driving and planning auto use to combine various shopping trips and other chores, using alternate forms of transportation when possible, all of these are things every household and business can use, and save money while doing so.
Insulate homes and buildings
Heating and cooling homes and buildings takes energy, which means greenhouse gas emissions. Insulating walls, attics, and windows can save a third of energy immediately. Many utility companies offer insulating services and financing, with the payback taken out of the energy savings. They can spread the payback of costs so the transition is painless.
